My Go-To Powder Foundation

Hello everyone!

In today’s post I’ll be telling you about my current go to pressed powder foundation. The powder foundation that I find myself grabbing for the most lately is this ‘Amuse Pressed Powder’.

P1010500(VRO)

P1010492(VRO)

P1010495(VRO)

It’s very easy to apply and it allows you to build up to your preferred coverage. Being able to chose from sheer, to medium to full coverage on any given day with just one product is something that is very appealing to me and I can just put on more in the areas where I usually get oily (the dreaded T).

This does come with a sponge, but in my opinion, the sponges that powder compacts come with don’t offer much flexibility in the application process. The sponges give you instant full coverage and are not too great for blending.

The powder has a slight florally-ish smell to it, nothing that’s prominent and hardly even noticeable.

Overall it’s one of my favourite pressed powders.

Bye everyone, I’ll talk to you in the next post!

Day 10 of Christmas – A Little Chit Chat

Image

Tomorrow – which is in about an hour – is Christmas Eve. Now, there’s a little tradition in my family in which we leave all our Christmas shopping until the night before. Sounds absurdly stressful doesn’t it. Well, it’s not really. I’ve been doing a bit of scouting around downtown when I’ve had the chance – which isn’t much –  and so tonight, it’s on. I’ve been in need of a few beauty essential and I plan to use Christmas Eve as an excuse to splurge.

Image

And, also I think I’ll pick up a bit of something something for you guys as well. Do I see a giveaway in the near future? Gasp! Are you excited?

Anyway wish me luck.

Christmas Eve here is kind of like a big event here, like a party that everyone’s invited to and so everyone gets all dressed up to go out. I’ll be doing a OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) post later tomorrow so you guys can see what I’ll be wearing.

So this is it for day 10, WOW, this whole little blog series went by really quickly.

Bye babes, I’ll talk to you guys in the next post!

#TheWinterProject – Winter Accessories

#TheWinterProject - Winter Accessories

Winter, winter, winter, it means so many things; the start of colder weather and the ending of the school term – both of which I’m excited for. And, winter also means that I can break out my favourite winter accessories.

Scarves and mittens!

I love these accessories for winter, they keep you warm and their stylish too. Winter could possibly be my favourite season of the year; I just love how cold it gets, even here in the Caribbean – although it doesn’t get THAT cold here. But, scarves and mittens at night time are definitely an option.

There are just so many types of scarves my favourite though is the infinity scarf, there are just so many ways that you can wear it and that’s good for me because I like to switch things up every now and again.

In my opinion though, mittens keep you way warmer than scarves do and they’re my favourite of the two. They can be so comfy, chic and even kind of corky at times.

So, what would you say are your favourite winter accessories?

Bye, I’ll talk to you in the next post.

Jennifer Lawrence In Christian Dior Couture – ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Rome Film Festival Premiere

JL-CD (VRO)

I’m totally loving Jennifer Lawrence in this Christian Dior dress!

Jennifer has been out on a promo tour for her new movie ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ and here she is at the Rome Film Festival Premiere in Italy where she wore this floor length vanilla Christian Dior dress that features a high-low hemline and a wrap-around bodice.

She wore the dress with a pair of gold sandals, a hand cuff and a pair of earrings by Dana Rebecca Designs. She kept her eye makeup pretty simple and opted for a watermelon coloured lip. She finished off the look with her hair slicked back as the runway model had. The hairstyle really does give her an Old Hollywood 60’s screen siren vibe.

Are you guys excited to see The Hunger Games: Catching Fire?

I definitely am.

Loving Jennifer in this dress?

I’ll talk to you guys in the next post. Bye!

Beauty Box For Nail Art Lovers

Browsing through the inter-webs I came across ‘Nail Art Society‘, a beauty box for nail art lovers.

NAS (VRO)

What is Nail Art Society?

For those nail art fanatics out there, you guys like trying out new nail trends right? Well, Nail Art Society (NAS) makes it easier for you to do that. Going out and buying the tools, polishes and nail accessories at the sight of a new trend can be costly, but as a subscriber to NAS they’d provide you with these things every month for $11.95 plus S+H.

What they say you can expect?

Once you’re a subscriber you can expect your package to be delivered in the middle of every month. There’ll be professional tools, polishes and nail accessories accompanied with step-by-step How-Tos on how to create a particular look.

One of the this that NAS is sating is this:

Of all the nail tutorials you see on the internet, how far can the tutorials go if you don’t have the tools to create them?

They want to provide you with what you need.

NAS is apparently has been back in business since September since taking a break earlier this year to sort some things out sadly though, this service is only available in the US. Poo, I would’ve liked to have tried it.

What do you think of this ‘beauty box’?

Have you every heard of a nail art dedicated beauty box?

Talk to you in the next post

*Just a disclaimer, I wasn’t paid or encouraged to post about NAS. I just wanted to share a new find with you guys.

A New Makeup Brand (LiSi)

I discovered a new makeup brand today you guys!

Image

I forgot how exactly I came across it but I was browsing the web and – poof – there it was. The brand is called LiSi Cosmetics and they sell affordable high end makeup products on their site.

Image

I don’t know why but whenever I’m checking out a makeup brand I always check their foundation and brushes first. Their brushes from what I saw seem really great and the price range for them is very reachable to you budget beauties out there. Almost half of the brushes at LiSi are duos and so again there’s a really great price for them. The only downfall I can see online is that there are no brush sets available.

Foundation wise, they offer a wide colour range for every ethnicity which I really like. They liquid, powder and cream-to-powder foundations available. The liquid foundation is suitable for every skin type, it’s oil and wax free which would allow for breathable coverage. There cream-to-powder foundation claims to be smooth and never cakey and is suitable for all skin types. The pressed powder is only recommended for normal to oily skin types.

LiSi has a good range of lip liners, glosses and sticks and nail lacquers as well. They have brow pencils, gels and powder duos and pretty much any makeup product available on their site except lip stains, BB and CC creams.

I’m really eager to try out some of there products to give you guys a real view of the brand and their products and not just what the brand says about themselves, I mean if there mascara was crap they wouldn’t tell you that now would they? But I just wanted to share my discovery with you guys, maybe you’d never heard of them and bow you want to check out their products too?

LiSi has its store in Greenwich Village, New York.

Have you used LiSi products before?

What’s your view of the brand?

I’ll talk to you in the next post. Bye!

Best Dressed: 2013 Pride of Britain Awards

Quote of the Day

“Many things which cannot be overcome when they are together yield themselves up when taken little by little.”
– Plutarch

Image

Who do you think was the best dressed at the 2013 Pride of Britain Awards?

Was it Pixie Lott in this ivory-coloured Yuvna Kim long and flowing, yet short and skimpy sheer dress with floral and lace detailing?

Or maybe Nicole Scherzinger in this black Amanda Wakeley dress with sheer panelling in the thigh high slit.

Kimberley Walsh came wrapped in classic elegance wearing this white long-sleeved, plunging neckline Halston Heritage dress.

Tess Daly probably was the one that captured your attention in this black knee-length Emilio Pucci dress with sheer fabric for the sleeves and shoulder area. She has a daring thigh high split and a slash across her chest filled in with the sheer fabric.

Christine Bleakley came all glammed up in this black and white asymmetrical Roland Mouret halter dress.

The doe eyed beauty, Jacqueline Jossa, came to the event donned in a gold-coloured Arjan B dress that sported a embroidered bodice and a simple flowy bottom.

Lastly there was Brooke Vincent in the sleek and simple red spaghetti strap dress that sported a bit of a train.

Which of all 7 do you like best? Choose.
