The Resemblance is Uncanny

The Resemblance is Uncanny

Makeup Revolution is a new cosmetics brand in the UK and since its launch; the eye palettes that have really caught people’s attention are the iconic palettes that are the perfect dupes of the Urban Decay Naked palettes.

It’s not hard to see the solid resemblance between them but there is one distinct difference between them; while the Naked palettes can go for about £37, the iconic palettes go for a staggering £4, and they have just about the same quality in pigmentation and staying power.

If you live in the UK and you’ve wanted to get your hands on all or any of the Naked palettes, but couldn’t because of the steep price, then I’d recommend that you look into these dupe palettes.

Here’s a post comparing swatches from the Naked 3 palette and the Iconic 3 palette.

The links to each Iconic palette is down below:

Would you buy any of the iconic palettes?

Bye everyone and I’ll talk to you in the next post!

REVIEW | L.A Girls PRO Conceal HD Concealer and Swatches

This is the PRO Conceal HD Concealer from L.A Girls in the shade Cool Tan ‘GC980’.

 Swatch

Blanded

I bought this concealer with the intention of using it as a highlighter, but in truth I think I got the wrong shade for my complexion.

The concealer comes equipped with it’s own brush to make applying it to your skin easier. I wouldn’t recommend that you try to blend the concealer with that brush though, it doesn’t do a great job at it. So just grab a concealer brush and use that to blend. Another thing, don’t take too long after applying it to your skin to blend it, it’s hard enough to get it blended as is.

Since this isn’t my shade, it makes me look ‘ghosted out’ when ever I use it, as you can see in the swatch, so I can’t really comment much on the colour pay-off. But even still, the times where I’ve used it under my eyes it really muted the bags that were there.

Overall I think that this is a good concealer, a bit on the hard side to blend though and it’s easy to apply to the skin. I’d repurchase it, but in the right shade next time – hopefully.

Bye everyone, I’ll talk to you in the next post.

AVON ANEW Platinum Eye and Lip | FIRST IMPRESSIONS

This is the first product that I’ve ever tried from AVON. It was gifted to me from a friend on my birthday last Thursday. This eye and lip cream comes from AVON’s ANEW line of products and what it does is that it helps to stimulate the production of a key skin protein responsible for youthful cell shape (paxillin). It also helps to recontour the look of the eye and lip area.

(In a study) After 3 days, 86% felt the appearance of deep vertical lines above and below the lips were visibly filled in. In 2 weeks, 85% agreed eyes have a more reshaped look and youthful definition.

The cream comes with an applicator. The round silver end for application around the eyes and the flat end the application on and around the lips. Applying the cream is very easy, and with how little product I was able to use to do both my eyes and lips this product should last me well past two weeks – I barely made a dent. The cream has an aloe scent and it’s pretty simple to use, you don’t have to get your hands messy to use it.

I just started using this product tonight and in two weeks I’ll give you all a full review of how this product is for me.

Bye all!

My Spring Beauty Wishlist

My Spring Beauty Wishlist
Hello everyone, how have you all been? It’s almost Spring and I know that some of you are way ahead on stocking up for your Spring essentials – unlike me. But here’s the list of things that I’d like to add to my Spring collection.
When I think of Spring makeup I think about fresh faced looks – simple and sweet with a splash of colour.
The NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Trinidad
First up is this sheer foundation from NARS in the shade Trinidad. It helps to keep skin hydrated and gives and glowing and natural finish. This is ideal for me because I don’t usually like to wear full coverage foundation, but on days that I’d like to this foundation also offers buildable coverage.

Aveeno Protect + Hydrate Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 70

You have to remember your sun block! And I like this one because not only does it protect against the sun’s rays but it also hydrates as well – I’m a sucker for moisturising! It’s sweat and water resistant and good both your face and body. It only works for 80 minutes though, so you’d have to bring it along for touch ups.

6-Piece Geometric Eyeshadow Palette

I love E.L.F and their affordable, quality products. I’m not sure if I mentioned this before but I really like nude eyeshadows and tend to use them the most. This 6 piece eyeshadow palette from E.L.F is packed with them and only costs $3! Another plus for me is that they’re shimmery as well. It’d be perfect for me for Spring.

Real Techniques Blush Brush

I’m absolutely in love with my Real Techniques brushes. They’re are such good quality and efficient and I’d think that this blush brush would be no different. This brush would be great for applying some blush to my cheekbones.

Sigma | E32 – Exact Blend

I love a good blended eyeshadow and this E32 exact blend brush from Sigma seems a good brush for the job. I heard a lot of good things about Sigma and I’ve been wanting to try some of their brushes for a while.

Spring Capsule Collection by Rita Ora for Rimmel London

I love these lip colours for Spring in Rimmel’s new  Spring Capsule Collection which they collaborated on with Rita Ora. They’re lip crayons giving a smooth application. Can’t wait!

So I know that the radio silence has been . . . a bit much, but with final exams coming up I do have quite a lot of things to do and so my posting wont be too regular for the next couple of months, but that does not meant that I will stop blogging completely. I’ll continue to try and blog as much as I can. I hope you all understand.

Bye everyone! I’ll talk to you in the next post!

My Go-To Powder Foundation

Hello everyone!

In today’s post I’ll be telling you about my current go to pressed powder foundation. The powder foundation that I find myself grabbing for the most lately is this ‘Amuse Pressed Powder’.

P1010500(VRO)

P1010492(VRO)

P1010495(VRO)

It’s very easy to apply and it allows you to build up to your preferred coverage. Being able to chose from sheer, to medium to full coverage on any given day with just one product is something that is very appealing to me and I can just put on more in the areas where I usually get oily (the dreaded T).

This does come with a sponge, but in my opinion, the sponges that powder compacts come with don’t offer much flexibility in the application process. The sponges give you instant full coverage and are not too great for blending.

The powder has a slight florally-ish smell to it, nothing that’s prominent and hardly even noticeable.

Overall it’s one of my favourite pressed powders.

Bye everyone, I’ll talk to you in the next post!
