REVIEW | L.A Girls PRO Conceal HD Concealer and Swatches

This is the PRO Conceal HD Concealer from L.A Girls in the shade Cool Tan ‘GC980’.

 Swatch

Blanded

I bought this concealer with the intention of using it as a highlighter, but in truth I think I got the wrong shade for my complexion.

The concealer comes equipped with it’s own brush to make applying it to your skin easier. I wouldn’t recommend that you try to blend the concealer with that brush though, it doesn’t do a great job at it. So just grab a concealer brush and use that to blend. Another thing, don’t take too long after applying it to your skin to blend it, it’s hard enough to get it blended as is.

Since this isn’t my shade, it makes me look ‘ghosted out’ when ever I use it, as you can see in the swatch, so I can’t really comment much on the colour pay-off. But even still, the times where I’ve used it under my eyes it really muted the bags that were there.

Overall I think that this is a good concealer, a bit on the hard side to blend though and it’s easy to apply to the skin. I’d repurchase it, but in the right shade next time – hopefully.

Bye everyone, I’ll talk to you in the next post.

The Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick| Review

Image

It’s raining colour indeed!

I was so happy to have been chosen to receive this Rimmel London Moisture Renew lipstick complimentary of Influenster! This lipstick is highly pigmented, which is good for me as my lips are darker than some . I find this lipstick really easy to apply and it doesn’t leave my lips feeling dry in anyway.

I received shade 360 ‘As You Want Victoria’ which is a nice vibrant pink. That’s not the colour I’d usually reach for as I tend to gravitate towards darker reds, but I do like the colour, it’s a nice addition for Spring. I like that there’s no need to go over it with a separate gloss as it has a rich glossy finish. This lipstick is part of the new and improved line of Rimmel’s Moisture Renew lipsticks launched in last October.

I am a sucker for packaging and I like the sleek look that this has with the silver casing and the clear purple cap. I found that this lipstick did cling to dry patches but, you can easily apply additional layers. This lasts for a good while, but you will definitely need to reapply after eating.

Overall with the experience I’ve had, I can say that I definitely like this lipstick. I’m excited to try the other shades soon.

My Go-To Powder Foundation

Hello everyone!

In today’s post I’ll be telling you about my current go to pressed powder foundation. The powder foundation that I find myself grabbing for the most lately is this ‘Amuse Pressed Powder’.

P1010500(VRO)

P1010492(VRO)

P1010495(VRO)

It’s very easy to apply and it allows you to build up to your preferred coverage. Being able to chose from sheer, to medium to full coverage on any given day with just one product is something that is very appealing to me and I can just put on more in the areas where I usually get oily (the dreaded T).

This does come with a sponge, but in my opinion, the sponges that powder compacts come with don’t offer much flexibility in the application process. The sponges give you instant full coverage and are not too great for blending.

The powder has a slight florally-ish smell to it, nothing that’s prominent and hardly even noticeable.

Overall it’s one of my favourite pressed powders.

Bye everyone, I’ll talk to you in the next post!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS | Real Techniques: Core Collection and Starter Kit

Good day all, it sure has been awhile. To get back into the swing of things I’ll start off the week with a post. Here we go:

If you follow me on twitter then you’d know that last Thursday I finally got my Real Techniques starter set and core collection. I was so excited! I was tempted to just tear the packages open but I remembered that I had to take some pictures first, and here they are:

My first thought when I saw this was ‘Huh, I thought they’d be bigger’, but they are a good size. I know that most of you have probably read multiple reviews of these same brushes till you just couldn’t do it any more but . . . bare with me.

These are the first high quality brushes that I’ve been able to get my hands on. Here in Nevis the makeup brushes you’d see in stores would make a pro makeup artist scream bloody murder. I’m not lying, they’re crap! And after starting this blog I’m still at a point where I’m building my makeup empire, I wanted it to not be infested with mediocre brushes, and I didn’t have any other brushes – other than the ones seen here in a previous post and a few others. So I took to the internet to find some high quality brushes at an affordable price.

After searching through Sephora’s nice sets and Sigma’s $400 sets, I was like ‘Wait. What about Real Techniques?’ and I browsed through the site and realised that at Real Techniques I could get more brushes for less and the brushes are also world renowned quality. So, after realising this and saying goodbye to some cash – I can be really cheap sometimes, 😀 – I ordered the brushes, had them sent to my uncles house in the States and then he sent them here. Although they took ages to get to me – thank you uncle – it was definitely worth the wait.

The brushes are just so soft, unlike those scratchy brushes I had before. The two sets together cost $36 USD but in my currency – Eastern Caribbean Dollars – it cost $97.56 XCD plus shipping which added up to $113.68 XCD.

Well worth the money none the less and now I’ll never even have to look at the brushes that I see in stores here again! I’ll continue my makeup collection building, and most likely add some more brushes to it sometime in the future.

I can already see a difference in the way my makeup is applied with these brushes. Thank you Real Techniques!

Bye everyone, I’m off to go get ready for a class I have in an hour.

Review of: Manzhilian XL Densely Double – Tube Mascara

Review of: Manzhilian XL Densely Double – Tube Mascara

I got a new tube of mascara today and I want to do a first impression review for you all.

Image

The mascara is the Manzhilian XL Densely Double-Tube Mascara and it claims to give lashes a lengthier look, thicker look. Now, I’d never heard of this brand before today but I was so excited to try it after I saw it, the packaging it so simple yet enticing.

I tried it and here are my thoughts:

The formula isn’t a that lengthening, to me it’s like any other mascara that I’ve used so far. It’s in the colour black and although it doesn’t do lengthening, it did a great job of highlighting and defining my lashes and my lashes did look thicker after I used it and it’s waterproof so the look will last through out the day – it has for most of it so far.

The tube is a bit long in person – 13.5 cm – and offers 8ml of product.

So far, I’m liking this mascara – the formula and the packaging, but this is only a first impression review. I’ll be sure to get back to you guys a bit later, after I’ve been able to get the full feel of this.

Are you liking the packaging as much as I am or more?

How were you guys liking Black Friday yesterday?

Bye you guys, I’ll talk to you in the next post.
