Fashion Friday #1

Hey all, I know it’s been a while since my last post and that my posting hasn’t been too regular this month, but the final exam rush has started way earlier than I expected with all those assignments to do and tests to study for. But, I will still try my best to do posts at least twice a week. That’s all that I can promise at this point and come June, things should be back to normal if not better.
So, on with the post. Today’s post is ‘Fashion Friday’ where I have concocted – I’d say one of my best clothing combinations yet.
Fashion Friday #1
This is a gold sequinned blazer from Topshop at a price of $74. I couldn’t find this particular jacket anywhere on the internet, but here’s a pretty good look alike, still from Topshop for £39.20. I really like the jacket with all it’s sequins and such, it’s simple yet it says a lot, and it really just brings the whole outfit together.
I have a crush on this dress. It’s a white dress with just a tad bit of floral print. There’s a cut out in the mid-centre and a partial gold belt at the front. Shape-wise it’s just a sleeveless body hugging dress, but the detailing just really makes it pop and stand out. The dress is from Sass and Bide – they have some outrageously gorgeous clothing.
I chose these shoes as the colour really highlighted the floral pattern of the dress and also because those shoes are just something else. I’ve been wanting a pair of sneaker styled stilettos. These come from here for $89.99 and their from the brand ‘Priviledged’ and right now up until February 5th, is offering free second day shipping as well as free return – so take advantage while you can.
I chose these earings because the outfit is already so out there that I just wanted to keep accessories minimal and simple. The 14K white gold diamond studs come from JCPenney at a price of $833.33, but you can get a pair of zirconia look alikes at Amazon for a way lower price of $49.00 here.
This clutch comes from Jimmy Choo at a price of $1,450 here, but that is outrageously expensive so I found some alternatives for you guys. At River Island you can get a somewhat similar clutch here for £12.00 or you could also get a completely gold envelop clutch at eBay for $11.48 here. $1,450 here, but that is outrageously expensive so I found some alternatives for you guys.
I really like round sunglasses, these ones are from Chanel for £220 here or you can get something similar at ASOS here for a way lower price of £10.
What do you guys think of this outfit?
What would you change?
Which items do you like most?
Bye everyone, and I’ll talk to you in my next post.
Stay classy.

Sunday Nails – Nude Barbie

Today, I’ll be starting a new feature on my blog called ‘Sunday Nails’, where every Sunday I’ll be posting my fave and new nail looks. I hope you guys enjoy this feature.

Nude Barbie

I love accent nails, they’re so creative and there are just so many ways that you can do them. I named this look Nude Barbie because, the base is all just a nude colour with bright pink accents – that happen to remind me of Barbie.

For the pink accents I used the L.A Girls Black Light Nail Polish Disco Brites in the shade ‘Rock n Roll’. The application of this polish was very easy and it’s one of my favourites, colour and application wise. I’ve had it for a while and with it being a black light nail polish you can expect to see something really interesting if you have a black light handy.

This polish is from L.A Colors, I can’t be sure what shade it is as this is quite an old bottle of polish to the point where some letters are no longer there, as you can see in the picture above. In person, I can tell you that this polish is more like a sheer pink that you can only see at an angle, but in pictures it comes across as nude. But, I like it either way regardless.

I hope that you guys like this nail look and I’ll talk to you guys in the next post.

#2014BloggerChallenge – Skincare (Winter)

This, the second post of the #2014BloggerChallenge, is all about winter skincare and taking extra special care of your skin during the winter is very important.

First off, it’s really important to start from within when it comes to skincare, so try drinking at least 8 cups of water daily – something that I’m guilty of not doing – and try not to overdo it with the processed foods.

As I live in a tropical area, winter doesn’t really hit hard for me but there’s still a bit of coldness. What I do really is, at night I put on a very thin, light layer of Vaseline on my face, and I wouldn’t have to worry about my face going dry during the night.

During the day I use a moisturising face cream, and reapply when I feel the effects of it fading. I don’t use any one product, I just get any really. For my lips, at night I put on a layer of Vaseline, but that doesn’t really last long on my lips. During the day I apply a moisturising lip balm and reapply as needed, or if I’m wearing lipstick I try to use a moisturising one.

And, for my overall skincare,  I just simply use a lotion with more moisturising qualities than I’d use any other time of the year. Basically, the key to winter skincare is just to try and keep your skin hydrated and moisturised.

And remember, work from the inside out.

#TheWinterProject - Day 4 of Christmas - My Winter Makeup Essentials

This section of the post is about makeup products that I’d use during the winter months.
First off, I chose the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream, because for winter I don’t really like using a lot of product and this BB cream is quite light on my face. Then, there’s the Smashbox Hydrating Primer and I use this so that the makeup that I do use stays all day and also because it’s hydrating which is an ideal feature for this season – but of course you apply your primer before your BB cream.
Next I’d use the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer to get rid of any bags that I’d have under my eyes. I’d apply a bit of eyeliner on my upper lash line and in my lower waterline and then finish off my eyes with a mascara like this CoverGirl Lash Exact Waterproof Mascara.
If I’d feel like wearing anything on my lips other than a balm then I’d go for a deep red lipstick that hydrates.
For me, my ideal winter makeup essentials would just be products that are light, easy to apply and keep my skin hydrated.
I hope you guys like this post. What would your winter makeup and skincare essentials and routines consist of? I’d really like to know.
I’ll talk to you guys in the next post.

Aww Real Techniques . . .
Hey everyone, it’s been a while hasn’t it?
I’ve been in the market for some makeup brushes lately, mine are crap and I need a serious upgrade. In the makeup community Real Techniques has really taken a stand and has stolen the hearts of many makeup lovers. I heard so much great things about them, their durability, silky smoothness . . . . The list just goes on with them. I’ve decided to give them a try and ordered some a little while ago. I can’t wait for them to get here!
I purchased the core collection and the starter set, the Limited Edition Sam’s Picks brushes were out of stock on the Real Techniques site were out of stock when I was shopping – poo – but still excited.
All though there are many reviews on Real Techniques brushes on the web already, I’ll be sure to give you guys a first impression review and an in depth one later one when I’ve been using them a while.
I’ll talk to you all in the next post!

Concept II Cosmetics Perfume and Body Lotion | REVIEW

Hey all, and I’m really sorry for not posting much this week, I had a lot of assignments to do this week for school. So sorry for that sorry excuse of a blog post that I did before this one, I was really pressed for time and I have a product review for you guys.

I got these two Concept II products back in December as a little early Christmas present. I have to admit, before I got these I didn’t even know that Concept II Cosmetics existed, but it’s always nice to find new things right? I can definitely say that it’s been nice finding it.

The perfume is in the scent Peach Velvet which is like a citrus-y, lightly floral scent. When I first smelt it, it was more like a body mist to me because of the lightness of it. When I was doing a bit of product research on their website,, they didn’t have perfume listed as one of the products that they sold, but they do offer body mists in a variety of scents including Peach Velvet. So I’m thinking that it’s either a mistake on the box that this product is categorised as a perfume or something. But regardless of that, I really like the smell of this. The colour of the perfume isn’t in truth that dark, it’s a light peach colour, the camera angle threw it off.

Body Lotion

The body lotion smells like floral toned baby powder. I really like the packaging for the body lotion and the perfume with the bits of gold – I’m a sucker for packaging. To be honest though, I’ve been using this lotion for a while now and it has done anything extra special for my skin, I would just classify this as just another body lotion and also I could not find this particular lotion anywhere on the Concept II Cosmetics site.

All in all, would I repurchase any of these? The body mist, sure, but as for the lotion, I’d give something else a try.

Bye everyone, and I’ll talk to you in the next post.
