Review of: Manzhilian XL Densely Double – Tube Mascara

Review of: Manzhilian XL Densely Double – Tube Mascara

I got a new tube of mascara today and I want to do a first impression review for you all.

The mascara is the Manzhilian XL Densely Double-Tube Mascara and it claims to give lashes a lengthier look, thicker look. Now, I’d never heard of this brand before today but I was so excited to try it after I saw it, the packaging it so simple yet enticing.

I tried it and here are my thoughts:

The formula isn’t a that lengthening, to me it’s like any other mascara that I’ve used so far. It’s in the colour black and although it doesn’t do lengthening, it did a great job of highlighting and defining my lashes and my lashes did look thicker after I used it and it’s waterproof so the look will last through out the day – it has for most of it so far.

The tube is a bit long in person – 13.5 cm – and offers 8ml of product.

So far, I’m liking this mascara – the formula and the packaging, but this is only a first impression review. I’ll be sure to get back to you guys a bit later, after I’ve been able to get the full feel of this.

Are you liking the packaging as much as I am or more?

How were you guys liking Black Friday yesterday?

Bye you guys, I’ll talk to you in the next post.

#TheWinterProject – Favourite Winter Scents

Hey everyone, it’s now week 3 of #TheWinterProject and that means it’s time for my favourite winter scents.

The smells of citrus and tea really get me in the winter mood and I know that if you read my October Favourites post here, you’d remember how I was (kinda) obsessing over the smell of this St. Ives Exfoliating Scrub. It’s a green tea scrub that smells vividly of tea with a hint of citrus to it and if I could smell it all day then I probably would . . . but then I’d probably get a headache.

Finally, the replenishing conditioner from my last haul post, here. This conditioner has a fresh citrus scent to it and I just love smelling it when I use it.

And these are my favourites scents that remind me of winter.

What scents remind you of winter?

Do these?

Bye, I’ll talk to you all in the next post.

The One and Only TAG

This lovely tag was created by the lovely blogger at One Little Vice.

“The point of this TAG is to get an insight into your absolute beauty staples . There can be no wavering, only one product from each category can be chosen and the result should be a capsule collection that you could live with if you had to.”

– One Little Vice

The Question: If you could only have one ______ what would it be? And, in a few words, why?

  • Primer

SmashBox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer – it’s a primer that not only primes by hydrates as well and so it would be perfect for the winter and summer seasons.

  • Base Product

Urban Decay Beauty Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 20 – the SPF would really help with sun protection, and this is a light product so I wouldn’t have to deal with heaviness on an everyday basis.

  • Concealer

SmashBox High Definition Concealer – a heavy duty concealer that would be good for my really ‘baggy’ days, and I could just not use it on my good days.

  • Powder

BareMinerals Mineral Veil Broad Spectrum SPF 25 – since I’m not really a face powder wearing person, if I had to choose one I’d go with this one as it offers sheer coverage, sun protection and its great to use for all seasons.

  • Blush

Sephora Collection Double Contouring Cream Blush – For blushes I’d prefer the to apply a cream formula because it’s easy for me, but I also like the finish that powder formulas give and so this cream-to-powder would be great for me if it was the only one I could ever use again.

  • Bronzer

Stila ‘Stay All Day’ 10-in-One HD Bronzing Beauty Balm With Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – this is a high definition, age defying, beauty balm that offers SPF – and by now you guys are probably thinking that I’m on SPF overload, and you’d be right. It’s also paraben and sulfate free.

  • Highlighter

Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up – Come on, have you seen this – amazing! It offers fast and application and it’s travel size.

  • Make-up Brush (Single)

Beauty Blender – This counts as a brush right? I need a brush for a lot of things that I do and so I picked this because you can use it for all purposes and areas of the face.

  • Eyebrow Product

Razor – I don’t use any products AT ALL in my eyebrows, as long as they’re shaped up they’re fine so I see no need for me to use anything. My eyebrows are pretty thick and filled in all their own.

  • Eyeshadow (Single)

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in ‘Lost’ – Only one colour?! I guess since I’d have to wear that colour everyday for forever I’d go with a neutral shade like this medium metallic brown.

  • Eyeliner

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Kajal Liner in Noir – you can’t use liquid liner in you waterline, or at least I can’t. For me a kohl liner offers more control and I picked this kohl liner in particular because it offers longer lasting wear and it has a smudger brush at the opposite end.

  • Mascara

CoverGirl Lash Exact Waterproof Mascara – it’s waterproof, so it’s long lasting, it offers great lash definition and it really makes my eyes pop.

  • Lip Stick, Lip Gloss or Lip Stain

Sephora Collection Lollipop Lipgloss – I would want to be stuck wearing the same lip colour forever, but I guess I could just wear it on special occasions . . . nah! I’ll go with gloss, it can be subtle and offer moisturisation, which is all I’m really looking for. I don’t particularly have any favourite glosses and so I’ll just go with this clear one.

  • Lip Liner

Since I’d be wearing clear gloss all my life I don’t see the point in having a lip liner, but, if I absolutely just HAD to choose I’d go with NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, it has a velvety texture and it’s actually a lip liner and stick in one, so yeah I’d definitely go with it to pair with my gloss.

  • Lip Balm

Fresh – Sugar Lip Treatment SPF – it’s a really hydrating balm that nourishes and plumps lips! Cool, to have those properties in a balm.

  • Nail Polish

Sephora Collection 3-in-1 Perfecting Base Coat – it protects, smooths and strengthens nails. I chose this as I’m not one for having colour on my nails often, I could live without.

Phew, finally finished. I’m so tired right now.

What would your answers be in this tag?

For tagging, I’d tag anyone who’d want to do this tag but I’d also specifically like to tag:

Bye you guys, talk to you in the next post.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette!

No need to wipe your screen, it’s true. The Urban Decay 3 Palette is here!

This palette originally wasn’t suppose to hit the market until January, but ever since its early realise its been a mad rush for people to get their hands on one.

Apparantly, as I’m informed the early release date was due to leaks by international bloggers. So, you can thank all those lovely French beauty bloggers for this early gift. I’m actually glad the brand pivoted on their original plan and launched early. It’s a smart business move to capitalize on the current frenzy.

The description on the Urban Decay site says this rosy neutral collection features 12 brand-new shades in matte, pearl, and metallic. It also comes with a new double-ended shadow/blending brush and a sample of Primer Potion.

Honestly, I didn’t know anything about a third Naked palette until this morning and so I just wanted to share the news with all the other late folks like me.

So, are you planning to get it?

This would be one of the best stocking stuffers ever!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, $52, available at Urban Decay.

The palette will be available in stores such as Sephora, Macy’s, Nordstrom etc. in December.

Bye, I’ll talk  to you in the next post.

2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Model Roundup

The following pictures are of VS models at the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Just came across these and in my opinion most of these outfits are just too showy.

This goes in order of appearance.

Lindsay Ellingson: Decked out in a structural burgundy-hued minidress courtesy of Mugler Spring 2013, Lindsay took a more futuristic approach to sexy styling. To lighten the mood, she accessorized with powder pink pumps.

Karlie Kloss: Chose an off-the-shoulder, cleavage-enhancing LWD from Cushnie Et Ochs Resort 2014, and paired it with a white studded Rebecca Minkoff  ‘Coco’ clutch and black sandals.

Alessandra AmbrosioShowed off her toned physique in a red leather Anthony Vaccarello Spring 2014 look, which featured a daring open front and a triangle-shaped detail at the skirt’s hem. Metallic pumps and a gold cuff bracelet completed the look.

Toni GarrnThis gunmetal grommet-detailed look from Anthony Vaccarello’s Fall 2013 collection has been making the star-studded rounds in its various forms. Despite repeated air time, Toni wore the skin-revealing, one-sleeved LBD well, accenting it with a pair of black pumps and a silver cuff.

Sara SampaioDressed in a printed bandeau top and ankle-cut trousers with a dramatically ruffled waistline — in matching shades of soft pink, no less — the model went a more whimsical styling route in an Osman Spring 2014 look. She finished it off with black pointy-toe pumps and a wristful of black cuff bracelets.

Hilary Rhoda: The newly-engaged stunner selected Prabal Gurung pieces for the occasion, rocking a purple floral Fall 2013 dress and dusty pink and mauve double-strap Casadei for Prabal Gurung shoes. A bold red lip completed the look.

Adriana LimaThe Brazilian bombshell wore a one-sleeved colorblocked Emanuel Ungaro Fall 2013 look, which she accessorized minimally with black booties and a silver bracelet.

Izabel GoulartAs the only model of the bunch to go with a floor-length silhouette, Izabel wore a black cutout Versace Fall 2013 gown with heavy ruching down the front, slick sleeve material, and a serious thigh split. Patent black pumps rounded out the look.

Candice SwanepoelThe model chose an itty-bitty LWD from Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2013 Couture collection for her red-carpet appearance. The long-sleeved mini showcased cutouts at the arms and, as you may have noticed, one giant cutout down the front of the dress, leaving ample room for Candice to show off a long chain-link Lorraine Schwartz necklace. A small black clutch and strappy black pumps were her only other accessories.

What do you think?

Do you share my view of some of these outfits being too revealing?

Let me know your opinions and views guys.

Bye, I’ll talk to you guys in the next post.

#TheWinterProject – Winter Accessories

#TheWinterProject - Winter Accessories

Winter, winter, winter, it means so many things; the start of colder weather and the ending of the school term – both of which I’m excited for. And, winter also means that I can break out my favourite winter accessories.

Scarves and mittens!

I love these accessories for winter, they keep you warm and their stylish too. Winter could possibly be my favourite season of the year; I just love how cold it gets, even here in the Caribbean – although it doesn’t get THAT cold here. But, scarves and mittens at night time are definitely an option.

There are just so many types of scarves my favourite though is the infinity scarf, there are just so many ways that you can wear it and that’s good for me because I like to switch things up every now and again.

In my opinion though, mittens keep you way warmer than scarves do and they’re my favourite of the two. They can be so comfy, chic and even kind of corky at times.

So, what would you say are your favourite winter accessories?

Bye, I’ll talk to you in the next post.

MINI HAUL | November 2013

HAUL 1113(VRO)

This is my first ‘Haul’ post you guys!

It’s been a while since I’ve been shopping, I haven’t told you guys this yet but  I’m actually in my last year of high school and the pressure is on, but it was about time that I restocked my hair products and so on Saturday I went shopping and got a little extra along the way.

I just bought some of the products that I usually get for my hair as ‘Organic Root Stimulator’ is one of my favourite hair brands. The products really help with my dry hair and breakage. I got a mousse, jojoba oil scalp moisturiser, a hair moisturiser and a conditioner that came with a shampoo sample.

I also got a nail polish from ‘GLAM’. When I saw the colour I couldn’t resist. The colour is actually very similar to one that I had in my ‘Winter Nails’ post from a few days ago and I’m not going to lie, as soon as I got home I just had to put it on!  It has a good formula though it could’ve been better. If you put on multiple coats at a time without giving each coat time to dry completely, you’re gonna have hell in getting it to dry after making that mistake.

Last is the makeup bag, I’ve been meaning to get a new one for a while now. The on I had before was one of those flat ones and it was a bit too small for what I wanted to put in it. This one though is not too big, but it has plenty of space and it even has slots inside to hold makeup brushes. I’d prefer it if it didn’t have the handle at the top but oh well.

Now to go do the work that I’ve been putting off! 😦

Bye you guys, talk to you in the next post.

Jennifer Lawrence In Christian Dior Couture – ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Rome Film Festival Premiere

I’m totally loving Jennifer Lawrence in this Christian Dior dress!

Jennifer has been out on a promo tour for her new movie ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ and here she is at the Rome Film Festival Premiere in Italy where she wore this floor length vanilla Christian Dior dress that features a high-low hemline and a wrap-around bodice.

She wore the dress with a pair of gold sandals, a hand cuff and a pair of earrings by Dana Rebecca Designs. She kept her eye makeup pretty simple and opted for a watermelon coloured lip. She finished off the look with her hair slicked back as the runway model had. The hairstyle really does give her an Old Hollywood 60’s screen siren vibe.

Are you guys excited to see The Hunger Games: Catching Fire?

I definitely am.

Loving Jennifer in this dress?

I’ll talk to you guys in the next post. Bye!
